Accomodation - Ifor Evans or Ramsey

Hi, been looking at TSR for info on UCL accomodation, can see lots of threads going back years, so just wanted to find out the current views.

I am about to apply for 1st year accomodation, as I understand you cannot select the accomodation but can give an indication of budget, catering and ensuite.

Given I wouid like to be with other newbies I am going to select Catering and not ensuite. I'm assuming that pushes me toward Ramsey and Ifor.

............................... Ramsey.................Ifor
Catering.....................Yes......................Yes
Weekly Fee...............£259.....................£216
Walking distance........5mins,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,37mins

Can anyone give me some more on the two. eg I'm assuming there's quite a few people walking from Camden to UCL each morning so the walk is quite safe? I don't mind a 37min walk... athough I might think different when running late!

Are the facilites ok at the two places? I'm not looking for the Ritz but a decent shower would be nice.

Is the food ok?

I like the vibe of Camden..... is Ifor also enjoyable given how close the campus it is?

Thanks in advance.

....one more Q, am I right in thinking 1st years will be placed in these two if they choose catering and non-ensuite.
