Halls as a mature student

Hello!

I am starting at The University of Suffolk in September. I am 30 years old. The accommodation options are quite limited and my budget is tight. It seems like my only option may be to stay in student halls. This is very daunting for me because of my age. Does anyone have any experience of staying in halls as a mature student?

I have contacted the accommodation and they do not provide flats specifically for mature students, which is fine, I have no issues with younger students, I'm just not sure how they would take to me haha

Any advice would be much appreciated

Hi Lucy, I've just graduated from UoS. There's TONS of mature students. Athena is a great place for socialising and no one cares about your age. There's also a mature students officer and societies so you can find others easily there too. In your 30s no one will even bat an eyelid honestly. Most people are at least in their 20s before starting at this uni it is really normal
