If you want a set of worked solutions to the paper 2H questions just message me via the Student Room confirming that you have just sat the GCSE (not IGCSE !) exam. In exchange, please point out any errors you may spot!

i got (4/25)^n but i doubt that it’s right

The only way for you NOT to get a blue pen at least once and a red pen at least once is to get all blue or all red.

P(all blue) = (4/5)^n
P(all red) = (1/5)^n

So 1 - (4/5)^n - (1/5)^n

Going to do an unofficial mark scheme
Lmk if any of these are wrong or wrong order
1)Calculator skills beginning with 1.7??
2)reciprocal= 1.6 or 8/5
3)prime factor of 60= 2x2x3x5
4)Inequalities:
a=4,
b= drawn on number line
c= g> 25 (cant remember which way round?)
5)x=5/4 or 1.25
6)Cumulative frequency b) I think was 37 or 41?
7)Compound interest-Rachel had more money
8)Histograms=1.2 drawn and 120
9)Pythagoras and circumference,the circle with with rectangle in it answer was 40.2cm
10)iteration,
a= proof
b=1.669?
11) use some rule then take angle away from 180, I think 58.4°
12)algebraic fractions: x+2/2x-1
13)it was sine-1(9.25/12.65) pretty sure
14)simultaneous equations: y=-2 and x=1.5
15)168kgs
16)
17or might be 18?) can’t remember exactly but you had to find what a:c would be then what c:b would be then combine them then add them
18)?
19)quadratic sequence= n^2+3n-1
20)vectors: 3/5a + 2/5b
21)functions on graph drawn as:
a) y=f(x)-4, graph moves 4 down
b)y=f(-x), so reflection in y-axis
22)1-(4/5)^n - (1/5)^n
23)make the area of the small triangle =x. The other shapes are part of bigger similar triangles. The second highest triangle has side lengths 3 times of x. So side lengths 3x. So scale factor is 3, so scale factor for area is 9x. And to find the medium trapezium are you just do 9x-x=8x
Do the same for the largest similar triangle and you get 36x-8x-x=27x so it’s x:8x:27x which is in the scale factor 1:8:27
24)4(2+root2)a^2

could you please type what the official topics they are aswell?
