A level Biology help!!

So I just did a question where I had to convert from kilojoules per meter squared to kilojoules per kilometre squared and I didn't know that we could be asked to do this conversion (for OCR A).

I tried looking at the specification to see if there is a list of conversions that we should be able to do, but I didn't find one.

I also got this question wrong because I divided by 1000 (1000m=1km)

Could anyone please explain why they multiplied by 10^6?

And any tips for conversions would also be very much apprectiated
Hi! You clearly know that a kilometer is 1000m in a straight line, now draw a square with side lengths of one kilometer and convert them to meters. Now calculate the area of the square. You know that this each side is 1km long, but you’re multiplying 1000 meters by 1000 meters. So you should find the area of 1km^2 is 1000*1000, or 10^6

Hope this helps
