Should I do PHD in physics

I have done Master's in physics. But I am confused if I should do PHD in physics or not. So, if anyone could help me out by telling if it is beneficial or not and what career opportunities can I get after PHD in physics.

i realise this is from a month ago sorry. doing a phd depends on what you want to do largely and if you enjoy it and can do it. if you really enjoyed doing research in your degree i’d say go for it but if you’ve not enjoyed that then probably not. if you want to work in academia a phd will be useful and is needed if you want to become a professor however if you want to work in industry it’s less crucial but something that shows leadership skills would be more important i guess. there’s no downside to a phd really but you will be doing that for 3/4 years i assume and will be pretty skint which could be something to account for. if you love research there’s no reason not to. i hope this helped and sorry it’s a month late
