Red light Camera

I stopped at a red light camera for a while. Then I found my self driving off while looking back I see the other cars way way behind me. I'm not sure if I drove off looking at the green light which may have come on or just drove off. Either way I don't remember the light being green. Would I get penalty points and fine for this?

Red light cameras are typically set up to capture images of vehicles that run red lights, and these images can be used to issue citations to the registered owner of the vehicle.

If you're not sure whether the light was still red when you drove off, it may be difficult to contest the citation if one is issued. However, if you believe that the light may have turned green and you have evidence to support this (such as a dashcam video), you may be able to contest the citation and avoid the penalty and fine.
