Help. I don’t get why for the last step they did 1.452x10^-2 divided by 0.6

I did 1.452x10^-2 multiplied by 0.6 because

1.452x10^-2 In 1000cm^3
And then we need to find how many in 600cm^3
So… 600/1000 = 0.6
So… 1000cm^3 x 0.6 = 600cm^3
Then 1.452x10^-2 x 0.6 should give you the conc
But it’s not like this on the ms plz help me and tell me why 😭IMG_2355.jpegIMG_2356.jpeg

Ok, so let’s call the original concentration of the sodium ethanoate ‘x’ mol dm^-3. 600 cm^3 of this sodium ethanoate solution is used and 400 cm^3 of the ethanoic acid is used, so a total of 1000 cm^3 of buffer solution is made.

The concentration of sodium ethanoate in the buffer solution is therefore 600x/1000 or 0.6x mol dm^-3

You are solving for the concentration of the sodium ethanoate that was used to make the buffer solution, which is x mol dm^-3. The concentration calculated directly from the Ka expression is the 0.6x mol dm^-3, as that is the concentration of ethanoate ions after mixing the solutions- so to get just x mol dm^-3, you have to divide your answer by 0.6.
