Drawing displayed structures help understanding mark scheme (edexcel)

Look at question 3b and 3c, I’ve drawn the structures like that and look how the mark schemes have drawn it as. Would that get any marks because the mark-scheme shows the groups attached to the carbon to be flipped around. And what does ‘penalise wrong side chain only once’ mean? (Underlined in the attachment). Can someone explain this edexcel mark scheme.

Your answers are correct - you get full marks

Penalise wrong side chain means the 'R' group attached to the amino acid. If you have drawn it incorrect several times, you can only lose one mark.

Oh ok thanks, do you know why they have drawn it that way in the mark scheme?

It's stylised, nothing more.

The exam board are just highlighting the structural nature of the alpha amino acids as R-CH(NH2)-COOH
