Hi :hi:

Go ahead!

You might also find this thread useful for revision resources:

I hope Chemistry revision is going well so far? Is there anything we can do to help?

I’m glad to hear you are doing well. Good luck. I’m sure you will do brilliantly.

I’ve been well, thanks for asking.

Any predictions as to what can come up?

Look at the spec. It clearly states which topics could come up on each paper.

Also, I’d focus on paper 1 first, so maybe look at the paper 1 thread, where I’ve put some practice papers. https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7336495

I'm revising for this right now and actually panicking because I do not know enough organic. There are so many reactions and reagents and mechanisms and my mind is about to explode pls tell me i'm not alone

I feel the sameee but don't worry we still have time before the exam to memorise the reagents + conditions as well as the mechanisms. For the reagents + conditions and just organic reactions in general I really recommend using this quiz on sporcle:

https://www.sporcle.com/games/lilygfredricks/organic-chemistry-reactions-1

It really really helped me when trying to memorise them all and the pathway diagram for the organic reactions on chemguide was also SUPER helpful. You got this though don't overwork yourself and remember you still have time!!!

Thank you sm for this! I will give it a try, I am not used to using online resources like this, Quizlet, Anki, etc. but it feels like a matter of urgency now...

honestly is there any point in predicting atp??? if paper 1 was anything to go off its that they'll ask anything BUT what you predict😭😭😭

That is a perfectly reasonable stance to hold.

I’d just say look at the specification as it tells you which topics can and cannot come up on paper 2 and just revise everything. Rate equations, Arrhenius and a big organic synthesis problem are very common. You should also expect one or two mechanisms.

silly question but when you draw chiral molecules does it matter about the orientation of the four groups as long as you show that it's chiral and it's non-super imposable on it's mirror image?

Depends on the question.

For questions where it tells you to draw the structures of both enantiomers, I used to start by drawing a vertical line to act as a ‘mirror’ and on one side, draw the structure of one enantiomer. I’d then draw the reflected structure on the other side of the mirror. Two of the four bonds from the chiral carbon should be solid, straight lines, one should be a hatched line and the fourth bond should be a solid wedge.
