Speech therapy

I am a yr 13 student and I would like to be a speech therapist but i am confused on what path to take to get there. I was wondering if it is better to do a Bsc in speech and language pathology or a Bsc in psychology and language sciences first and then a masters in speech therapy. I would also appreciate it if anyone can guide me on what further steps i can take to become fully licenced.

Hi! I would say it is probably better to do a broader degree and then specialise into speech and language therapy. As long as your psychology and language sciences degree is BPS accredited, you can still go into further study to be a psychologist. But specialising straight into speech and language therapy may limit your options. If you definitely want to do SLT then go for the BSc otherwise if you are still unsure I would advise keeping you options as open as possible. Hope this helps, good luck!
