Applying to Cambridge Medicine

I have 8A*s and 1 A at GCSE and I am predicted A*A*A for A-Levels. With a good personal statement, reference and strong BMAT do I have a chance at getting invited to interview at Cambridge? Does having only 2A*s disadvantage me in comparison to applicants applying with 3A*s or more or can I just make this up by other factors e.g. my GCSEs/demonstrating passion in my personal statement/BMAT etc

Thank you in advance!

Are you in year 12?
Because ‘Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing (the organisation which runs the BMAT and lots of other tests) announced in November 2022 that from 2024, they will stop offering the BMAT. This means that it won't be possible for any Medical School to ask its applicants to sit the BMAT even if they wanted to.’

The entrance exam will no longer be BMAT
It’ll probably be the UCAT

The answer is yes - having 2 A*’s does not disadvantage you, you only need to meet the entry requirements
For your gcse’s, look at https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=6033950
Look at https://www.undergraduate.study.cam.ac.uk/writing-a-great-personal-statement
Think of what you can answer from here
‘What do I know about the course and its modules?
Why do I want to study the subject?
What do I like about the subject?
What do I already know?
What have I read, watched or attended that is relevant to the subject?
What excites me about the subject?
What are my academic strengths?
What makes me a good fit for studying this course?’
Since your in year 12, if there is any gaps, for example ‘What have I read, watched or attended that is relevant to the subject?’ you have time to fill it
