Cambridge Medicine and Lack of Research Qualifications

Hello everyone, I'm debating on applying for Cambridge Med this year however I didn't do an EPQ or a crest award. I have entered essay competitions but haven't gained any form of recognition for them. I fear this lack of research qualifications will affect my application- Is this the case?
