How does birkbeck compare to UCL

Does the visitor pass for societies here take long to process?

These are very different institutions, UCL is a large "standard" quite reserch intensive university, e.g. with a broad mix of departments / subjects and UG and PG courses. Its teaching is primarily during the day. Birkbeck was established with a rather different mission. It describes itself as follows :-

"Birkbeck, University of London is an evening university, predominantly delivering teaching from 6pm to 9pm, retaining our historic mission to educate working Londoners. We are proud to be a university that opens its doors to people who may otherwise not be able to study".

So different cohorts, different course setup, different missions. All of that will influence life for an average student.
