School forces EPQ? Worth it for Maths?

I'm looking at Maths for uni, maybe Comp Sci for the career prospects but I prefer Maths so not sure about that.
In short, my school forces all of us to do an EPQ: even if we do 4 A levels, the most they do is allow you not to do work experience. I know EPQs are valued slightly by some universities, but I'm still not sure whether it's worth it for Maths? Thanks

Have your school spoken to you about the artifact style EPQ?
The idea is a smaller report with a project style thing, in your case if you're looking for a compsci or maths degree, a piece of programming would be a good artifact. And this would allow you to do a more relevant bit of independent production while keeping to your school's requirements.

Here is the guides to this style of EPQ if you're interested in this kind of thing. I had a friend do this with a program based around finding perfect numbers

An EPQ got me lower grade requirements when I applied for Maths, and mine was to do with history and nothing to do with maths/science.
