As with most learning and revision we all learn in different ways. Revising for essay based subjects can seem daunting, the best advice is to make notes of different themes, techniques, key terms, language etc. Ask your teacher for some past exam papers and have a practice with those!
I personally always found mind-mapping useful - diving into different topics and picking out ideas I thought would be relevant to the subject.
The main thing is to feel confident in your subject knowledge and practice practice practice!
