If by both fields you mean jobs in both biology and chemistry, from my experience working in the industry on placement, I'd have to say no. Biochemistry is a bioscience degree with a focus on molecular biology, and while (depending on university) you may study some pure chemistry modules it isn't really comparable to a chemistry degree. I'm currently working in a biotechnology company, and all of the scientists in the medicinal chemistry department that I've met have chemistry or chemistry-heavy natural science degrees.
