I can’t attend my placement assessment day because I have an exam
Right so I study psychology and have been invited to complete an assessment day for a human factors engineering placement. However, my assessment/interview has of course been scheduled for when I have my first exam.
What do I do? They imply that it is not easy rescheduling an assessment day.
Why the hell do companies invite students to complete 5-6 hour long assessment days right during the bloody winter exam period??

That is a really rubbish situation!
If it was me I would start off by talking to the lecturer who is running the exam, explain everything, and see if there is anyway you can do your exam another day. Sometimes you can join the resit students.
But you don't know until you ask so my advice would be to reach out and weigh up your options.
