UAL Foundation Diploma application deadline - does applying early matter?

The deadline is on Feb 28th, and I'm yet to apply as my portfolio is still a WIP. Unsure if all applications before this date are treated equally, like UCAS does until the 31st.
The UAL website just mentions 'We receive a high volume of applications for this course. This means we will not consider applications received after this date.'

UAL are pretty strict on the deadline for the FAD.

That might be different for this year where they’re moving foundation to the old LCC building and can cram in even more students (but that’s not necessarily a good thing for the students)
