Age- younger people generally have faster reaction times- they can process things and react more quickly. Reaction time increases with age.
Gender- studies show that men often have a faster reaction time than women, due to things such as hormonal differences.
Caffeine- caffeine decreases reaction time by blocking certain receptors in the brain that deal with tiredness. This means you can react more quickly. Too much caffeine can have the opposite effect though.
Just to clarify, a larger reaction time means that it takes longer to react, so large reaction times are a negative thing (this can be a little difficult to get your head around with the wording).
Hope this helps!
