If I quote something from a textbook, which publishing date do you use? Cos when my lecturers are writing about said textbook (Carlson et al), they always say Carlson et al (2003) when I can't even find a 2003 in the book, but if I'm using the third edition (published 2007) then is 2007 the year I put?

I'm pretty sure you put the year that it's published. If you need anything else let me know!

Thanks. I've just put the year that the book I used was published. Because it said to go to page 252 or whatever when what I wanted was on 365, so they're obviously too lazy to update the information for the new editions.
