Line contained in Plane Clarification

If a line is contained in a Plane, does that mean the entire line is contained in the plane?

So the plane stretches (from end to end) as far as the line stretches at least if not further?

Or does the plane strictly contain the line (i.e. the line goes from one end of the plane to the other end)?


Also can the line be contained in some space in the plane (but not end to end)?

If a line contained in a plane y, is perpendicular to a plane x, is the plane y perpendicular to the plane x?

If a line is contained in a plane, that means the entire line is contained in the entire plane. They both stretch off to infinity.
