so the question is wrong? x is real means that it can be any real number, However,when x=0 is substituted , the range does not apply.

Can't make sense of your last sentence.

x is real means the inequality holds for all real values of x. So, it must hold for x=0; but it doesn't. Hence you're trying to prove something which is actually false - can't be done.
