What are you stuck on? How much have you done?
For the first part, use applications of the chain rule. dydx=dydu×dudx \frac{dy}{dx} = \frac{dy}{du} \times \frac{du}{dx}

Hey bro, thanks for replying.
I'm relatively new to this chapter. May i know how do you differentiate y=f(x), and x=e^u to prove dy/du?
I need little of guidelines regarding to that.
Thank you mate. Cheers

y=x=euy=x=e^u

dydx=1xdydx=x\frac{dy}{dx}=1 \Rightarrow x\frac{dy}{dx}=x

dydu=eu=x\frac{dy}{du}=e^u=x

You know that ddu(eu)=eu \frac{d}{du}(e^u) = e^u right?

You want dydx \frac{dy}{dx} and by the chain rule that is dydu×dudx\frac{dy}{du} \times \frac{du}{dx} as f(g(x))=f(g(x))×g(x)f(g(x))' = f'(g(x))\times g'(x)

Also dydx=1dxdy\frac{dy}{dx} = \frac{1}{\frac{dx}{dy}}
Use dy/dx in terms of e^u and show what the question asks for.

Correct me if I am wrong
Du/Dx =e^u

However, may I know how to differentiate y=f(x) making it in terms of dy/du?

Thank you for your help. I misunderstood the question as i take function of as f(x) .
Thank you for your time once again.
appreciated it :smile:

Blessed weekend, Cheers

Hey ,
May I know what is FP1/FP2?
I am taking CIE A-levels further maths.
Perhaps you're referring to Edexel or OCR Further maths?
