Games console in campus?

I hopefully will be in UNI sept 10', and i was wondering if theres any point buying a PS3/XBOX 360 for my room in the hall. seeing as most unis now have internet access, how slow will the internet speed be and has anyone done this?

Yes. I'm regretting not bringing mine, im going home soon to get it. Internet speeds depend on what uni you go to i guess... but mine give me 10 mega bit speeds so online play shouldnt be laggy.

I have mine at University, not played it much but to be honest, what have you got to lose by taking a console? There will be times where your mates go home, or aren't available and you'll need something to break the work up when you get to uni.
