Those are crap deals.

Very nice, but I don't see how it's relevant to my point.

It's mostly not. Essentially, Deus Ex was quite a poor spiritual successor -- if it can be truely called one in the first place -- to System Shock 2 and Bioshock was just a complete rip-off of the old ideas from SS2 itself, just based within a different context.

The fact that the audio experience of the game smacks of immersion right off from the bat speaks loudly of the game's quality when compared to Deus Ex which took a bit of time to really get immersive in any real way whatsoever.

One game that actually is a worthy spiritual successor to System Shock 2 is Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines, however. Shame about the bugs but a real compelling game, at that.

No, they're not. They're pretty bad.

And stop calling everyone 'bruv'.
Does anyone know why Mafia 2 is currently 33% off on Steam? I'm considering it, but am just wondering if/when it'll go back up

No idea, but I've heard nothing good about it, so I haven't bothered.

Its just a sale, like the many others they have all the time.
Could just be a random choice, like many are, or the game may not be doing so well so they trying to sell more. As for when.. steam sale susually just last a day dont they?

Well the thing is, it was on sale during that week where they had several games on sale each day, but for more money than it's going for right now.

And it's been on sale for this amount for half a week or so already.

It's probably related to new DLC for it being released a week and a half ago http://store.steampowered.com/app/50147/

Anyone know if this is worth it? Metacritic is putting me off it, but for 75p...
http://store.steampowered.com/news/4739/ - talks mainly of a competition, but also mentions three deals, including 75% off Chime (temporarily going for a pound!). The deals will be refreshed every two days.

and

http://www.gamesforwindows.com/en-GB/dailydeal/day5/ - S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl for 75p, or even cheaper if you buy with MS points.

Bugger, you just beat me to it :p: I was about to post http://store.steampowered.com/treasurehunt which shows the games that are on offer and why they're on offer
Is Chime worth going for? Has anyone played it?

It's worth adding that you get entered into the first draw just for setting up an avatar on your Steam profile. You have a 20 in a sqillion chance of winning five games form your wishlist, but setting one up takes all of about three seconds so you may as well really.

Is there a Steam society on TSR? I reckon such a thread could end up going down really well.
