Wondering if anyone can help?. I would like a career in academia in politics. I have been offered a place on University of London Birbeck college Msc global politics and the University of Reading MA International relations. My questions is which programme is better for a career as a lecturer in politics.

Neither/both. Your success in getting into a career as a lecturer in politics will depend on going to either place, getting a first, doing a Masters, developing some papers, doing a PhD, getting publications in first order publications and then a post-doc place. All of those steps depend on your academic ability, not the difference between Birkbeck and Reading.
