It wont really matter aslong as you made the same conversion factor when you changed tonnes into grams as when you changed grams into tonnes.

no i just left out the question

did not know that, damn

As long as you use the same units throughout the qeustion you will pick up working marks anyway. Besides if you get 0.5 of a mark it is likely to be rounded up anyway.

i dont think you had to change it into grams, i used the ratio, but i think 1000,000 g

bad bad SQA- That probably threw a few of you. I haven't seen the q paper yet, but I would think that it was probably in a question that would alow you to work through in tonnes and answer would also be in tonnes 9the way you can for molar ratio type q's when they are in Kg.

the condensation v esterification- as long as you only said condensation and did not mention polymerisation you will 'get away with it'

i think the NEW RESULTS are pretty accurate to the actual results but they have been obtained using deduction of everyones answers.

Dw, u will get it soon on here. It takes a bit of time cos' it has to be done in PDF pages, then the pages have to becombined, etc. Then I will make sure the order of pages is correct and upload to issuu.com

did anyone else get 1/2Cl2 +e ---> Cl? and did anyone say that the positive electrode would rust?
Reply 195
cheers man :smile: glad i am doing higher computing cause i actually understand what your saying

carbon is not metal so can't rust, rust involves iron ions

I wrote Cl + e- ------>Cl-

Why is there a half? The question clearly stated one mole. And where's your negative charge?

I thought that's the reason why they use carbon rods? Because they don't rust? And the consensus is that it reacts with oxygen to produce CO2 and wear out.
