Couldnt find it anywhere on the internet

Do you have a link?

Yes, it's legit.

https://www.economistsubscriptions.com/ecom906/global/

I'm a subscriber already. It's a good deal - cover price is £4.00 an issue.

Best coverage of world affairs that there is.
No.... I got a poster thing through my door (one of their new ones - http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010/jun/02/the-economist-poster-campaign) and so I subscribed, but now I have thrown away the leaflet :/ Was 3 weeks ago and I haven't heard anything yet.
Jez, that link just has the £12 for your first 12 issues offer? Mine was 12 issues for £1 (supposedly).
I couldn't find it on the internet either. The leaflet was part of their new ad campaign (http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010/jun/02/the-economist-poster-campaign). I just phoned the number and subscribed :/ I no longer have the leaflet.

Did you have a code you had to quote when you called up? Would you care to share it please.

I got that through school. Great stuff.

Ah OK - misread that and thought it was 12 issues for £1 each. Which the official site seems to confirm.

I suppose if you find a phone number for The Economist (ie not the one on the leaflet) they would be happy to confirm.

It's still a good deal even if it's £1 an issue IMO.

It's not a scam. Magazines do these kinds of deals often, probably in the hope of either a) you enjoying the magazine and thus contuing to suscribe or b) you forget to cancel your direct debit and carry on paying for it.

World coverage in the sense of politics, yes; world coverage with regards to economics, DEFIANTLY NOT.

Yeah I have done the offer and am about 3 issues into it, got a free book aswell!
A USEFUL THREAD? WTF?

I buy this sometimes so I think I'll rape this offer and then ditch them.

No, I agree. Economics makes my head spin anyway. But for in-depth analysis and the background to international news it's probably the best.

I've lost count of the number of times you see something on the news and you think to yourself 'The Economist predicted this 3 months ago'.
Not a scam I did a similar thing for New Scientist a few years ago.

Hey I am guessing all of you read the economist.

Just want or ask that how much knowledge of economics to do you actually need to understand the articles or are they enjoyable without any understanding of economics.
