Pride and Prejudice target audience?

Earlier this year I started reading 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies' by Austen and Green(?) and although I laughed at parts I felt that I wasn't laughing as much as I would had I read the original Austen novel.

Just out of curiosity what is the target audience for this book. Is it one that a male such as myself (last time I checked anyway) would enjoy or find that it was completely chick lit?

Originally, the affluent middle classes.

I reckon you could get away with reading it. And abandon that Zombie nonsense.

No, it's definitely not 'chick lit'; Pride and Prejudice is largely satirical. Try it. :smile:
