If you're in a country where they don't do A-levels, you won't be expected to have done A-levels. Don't worry about it.

Just make sure you fulfil the requirements unis you're applying to for your specific qualifications. Most unis do not except the American high school diploma on it's own and often want SATs in addition to either AP exams or SAT subject tests.

Brunel's website says with the American high school diploma they require 2 AP exams with at least a 4 in relevant subjects (you might want to ask them what else they accept in place of them if you can't take APs; eg, they might accept SAT subject tests).

If you go to a non-English speaking school then taking the TOEFL or similar might be a good idea, but otherwise you probably don't need to. Any English classes you've taken should satisfy the general requirement to have an equivalent of a C grade at GCSE.

The Uni will take you on the merit of your qualification, not everyone (even in this country) does A-levels, so wouldn't worry too much, the admissions tutor will make you an offer based on the qualifications taken.

Also, if English isn't your first language, then you need to take an exam in English here to prove you understand (but I don't think that's a problem coming from Aruba, as I believe the first language is English)
