Beginner in French

Hi, I studied French for GCSE and I never really understood It to well, due to being in and out of school a lot for medical reasons. However I really would like to learn with language, but have no idea how to go about it does anyone have any suggestions?

Well, my first question would be whether you have travelled in a French-speaking country? I reckon that's the most important first step, to get face to face with the culture you are interested in.
