I'm very curious (and bored) as to how all fresher's on the TSR got on on their first day/week at Uni. Was it really scary?? What did you do?? I apologize if I seem nosy- i just wonder what you did...?

I moved all my stuff in by the afternoon, went off for lunch with my parents and said goodbye, then came back to my room expecting a pretty quiet evening (not many people in my flat had moved in yet).

At some point in the evening I got a knock on my door from my next-door neighbour who invited me to a neighbouring flat where more people had moved in. We sat around chatting for a bit (where do you come from / what course are you doing sort of questions) and then went downstairs to the bar in my halls for some drinks. Met some fun people, then went on a mission to an off license to get some al-key-hol to take back to a random flat one of us lived in, and drank until 4am in the morning.

It took me half an hour of randomly wandering around the corridors to find my room (which I later learned was literally up one flight of stairs from where I was). I was in a bit of a state.

It rocked.
first day was hell...arrived and was then told they had given my room to someone else...but was eventually sorted but given a minging room in a flat in halls....once everything had been sorted and id ranted and screamed at the people who messed it up i unpacked and did all that crap...went to a few meetings and *****e and then the fun began....lots of partying...getting p.i.s.t an awful lot, chattin to lots of random people and just basically having fun....u will enjoy it!
First day-didn't get here until 5ish due to getting lost haha!

Got my keys and dragged my stuff up from the car.Went to Waitrose to get some groceries and cleaning products then said bye to mother.Went to the student bar with my flatmate and her boyfriend but it was crap so we got chinese and came back.I was exhausted by this point(had been travelling since 9am) but there were loads of people in the kitchen.I grabbed a knife and fork and took my food back to my room and went to bed.

Good start.

Freshers' week was busy-course registration, orientations etc.I was exhausted.

wasn't really scary to be honest. Basically arrived at about 1. Unpacked, said bye to parents and was all alone by 3. Then went and met up with the 20 or so people on the floor and asked all the usual questions. Had a few beers then went to the hall bar and party, which had inflatables.

Good fun.

Another case solved...
Spent most of it in the counsellors office crying lol. Thought uni was crap!

Still do kinda...but my mates make it alright  My uni was rubbish about organising any freshers stuff....we were totally on our own and as all my flatmates are final years it was kinda boring

moved in at about 3. Most of my flat was already there. I found out that I had forgot any crockery or cooking implements, so i had to rush about Reading for an hour or so looking for anything I could get. THen my mum left and our flat sat about for a while - went to an introduction meeting with whole of halls. Then went back to flat, went to JCR bar had a few drinks, then went back to the flat and got a bit more durnk, then went about the halls going into random flats.

Was great fun, one of the best nights in freshers for me.

Moved all my stuff in my room, re organised it asap when parents had gone. Met up with someone on TSR, had some choc brownies with some of new flat mates. Went to see a few people I knew from the internet and generally just kinda chilled. Met my peer guide too.

I was quite busy in Freshers Week, with auditions, rehearsals, talks, and not to forget pub crawls etc lol

Good week.

My first day was pretty fun I guess!

I moved in at about 3ish, the place was really busy with other new people, parents, siblings etc. My parents helped me arrange my room and unpack, then they left me alone to start the socialising! Met all my new housemates in the kitchen, our Freshers Week 'Crew' (2nd years living in the same kitchen last year looking after us for the week) came to meet us and take us to get our Freshers Week Wristbands (cost £30, pretty essential, get you into all the events free with less queuing), for which we had to queue for 2 hours! It was quite a bonding experience though.

After that, we decided to go to the club on campus as a group which was fun, met loads of random people who I barely remember now, got a little drunk, had a good time and so on

The rest of the week was a blur of going to random parties on campus and going to orientations, introductions, inductions and the like. It was a wicked week, it makes me sad that I'll probably never have one again :frown:
I was absolutely terrified and sporadically wondered what I was doing there throughout that week (and last week actually, but that's beside the point...).

On my first day/the afternoons and evenings of my first week I starting drinking at around 3pm with my flatmates, met and promptly forgot loads of new people and woke up with lots of unexplained injuries. Such as a massive number of small scratches all down my leg from my arse to my ankle. Neither I or any of the people I was out with have any idea how I managed to do it.

I didn't do much of the organised stuff apart from my department social, but I don't feel like I'm missing anything as a result...

My car broke down on the way. I got there, met some people and had a quality house party with all my hall on the first night.
