A2 edexcel - political ideologies - Unit 3 - 13th June

Does anyone know what the january 2011 paper questions were?
I think this might be a ridiculously stupid move, but a couple of us in the class were talking and felt we hadn't properly covered anarchism this year so we sort of left it out of revision. It's probably a silly thing to do, but it does mean, in theory, we should know our Socialism, Liberalism and Conservatism rather well.

I will be SO happy to get this paper out of the way. I think Paper2 is a much nicer exam 'cause there aren't as many arguments within topics like Feminism as there are in these 'bigger' ideologies.

I'm just rambling, but what I WANTED to ask was; how much revision has everyone done in terms of political thinkers?
So can anyone say for sure what is more likely to come in the exam? topic areas would be helpful

Hey guys, what were the essays from June 2010?

I only know two of them, sorry:

To what extent does modern liberalism depart from the ideas of classical liberalism?

Anarchism is closer to liberalism than it is to socialism. Discuss.

Good luck!

Dreading this exam still only looked at liberalism; everyone says soooooooooooooo much i know

and leaving out anarchism isnt silly in my college we only learnt socalism liberalism and conservatism

hows revision going?
Our class didn't touch on Anarchism at all, we just did Socialism, Liberalism and Conservatism.

Anyone got an essay on Is Conservatism a ruling class ideology?

don't have it typed up, but can give you my main points(i got like 40/45)

Tradition, authority clearly based in preserving status quo

one-nationism can be seen as merely 'change in order to conserve' ruling class position

Cameron's engagement in the 'scramble for the middle ground' can be seen as similarly motivated by gaining or retaining power

New right sought to surpass class with meritocracy, but really policies served to entrench social inequality

However, despite the fact that these strands can be seen as ruling class ideology as they were motivated by either winning or retaining power, surely any ideology believes its hold on power is beneficial for not just the class it most strongly represents, but society as a whole-reflected in organic society. Therefore, conservatism can be seen as heavily motivated by preserving the status quo but not MERELY ruling class ideology

as they see human nature as plastic, they believe capitalism distorts human nature into the belief that happiness stems from material gains, when in reality the basis of human happiness should be need fulfilment(marx quote). it also promotes competition, both morally and practically wrong, when human nature should naturally be drawn to cooperation
Only just found this thread - anyone got a Mark scheme? Edexcel have locked the recent ones so I can't get hold of them.
Think I've got the ideologies down, now I'm just revising the people behind the ideologies. My strong point is history and I can't seem to remember the thinkers behind the ideologies ever or come up with examples associated with them.
