Got "des fonctionnaires de gouvernement"...but is "gouvernement" needed...will "fonctionnaires" on its own mean it?

I'd say fonctionnaires alone is ok.

Whats the french equivalent to "in the shoes of..."?

You know when you say..err for example...imagine if you had been in the shoes of...bla bla bla...

Also need translation of "low-skill", "entry-level", "crime ridden"..

I think the French just say "être dans la place de quelqu'un" (e.g. "imaginez si vous étiez dans sa place").

Not sure about the rest off the top of my head, I'm afraid.

oh also "en apparence elle en était ignorante" is that how you would say in appearances she was ignorant of it. ie is "en" in the correct position in the sentence structure.

Not sure but I think you could say

Est-ce qu'il y avait des leçons appris?

Est-ce qu'il y a eu des leçons appris?

or

Est-ce qu'on a appris des leçons?

Est-ce qu'on donné une leçon à qqn? i would say if its figurative, ie you learnt your lesson not to do it again. the à qqn bit would of course turn into an indirect object pronoun if you wanted to say did they/he/she/etc learn their lesson

'lier' doesn't take à as far as I know, so you would say 'les lié'.

Not too sure about the translation, but the first half I would say:

'According to me, because their marriage was lacking love, which would have bonded them, society, and all it stands for....'
