The Father who lost his son is appealing for calm, I hope it works.

Just remember reasonable force... If you're dad goes and chases one of these ****ers and injures him, in the eyes of the law, he had intent to harm. He won't stand a chance then.

That being said, I always think its hard to define "reasonable force"!

My dad's quite a scaredy cat, actually. He's brought the cricket bats for his own self-confidence and faith that everything will be okay. I don't think he really has the guts to use them in the actual event of someone touching his 'darling' car.

However, my next door neighbour ... well he has certificate's in the martial arts and was a soldier in both Afghanistan and the Faulklands. He's also a boxing champion.

So, yeah, I'm relying on him if anything kicks up in our area.
One, I'm glad I don't live in a city.

Two, I seriously hope the 3 deaths last night don't create more riots.
anyone watching sky news the shop owner who had his shop looted was sat with david cameron and he put his hand up to say something awwwwww

The sad thing is that a lot of people are seizing the 'opportunity' just to be racist or go after people that weren't even involved in rioting - going by some recent reports of 'get the pakis' or attacks on random Black youths who weren't rioting.

I'm Pakistani so that's worrying.

I was saying this to my family. Actually I was shouting at them. They were saying it's all black people. I said it's people from every race. These riots have damaged race relations badly.

Where do you live?

St John's Wood. Nothing's happened in our area just yet, but my friends from school have told me that there are rumours that the rioters are considering 'touching' our area.
I feel so bad for the father.

Respect to the father.

Need a few more people like him.

I don't think it is going to take much to spark off B'ham tonight

He's a good man; he's kids were the same. That's what pisses me off the most, they didn't deserve to die.

A really brave strong looking man.
Did anyone else see the mother from Salford? Might as well have condoned it, really.

I must say Sky News and Sangat TV are putting BBC News to shame right now. Awful coverage by the BBC, just repeats.
From another forum I use:

Hi

I live in Gloucester.

Early this morning the riots kicked off here too. Building set on fire, industrial sized wheely bins set alight in middle of the street, windows bashed in. Youths used mobiles to take trophy' pics of police officers, and coordintaed with other rioters elsewhere.

Was escorted by police to my own front door for safety. Later, mounted police in full riot gear used. First time I've ever seen them in real life. (Not just TV).

Police have arrested some, but have warned us of further problems tonight.

Anger on streets today. One local suggested live ammunition be used.

Ah well.....

Didn't realise Gloucester was so bad.
Scummy people (grown adults) on bbc news trying to justify looting in Manchester. So excruciatingly embarrassing.
