What subject do you want to do?
It tends to offer vocational subjects, which aren't available at the University. Some of these are very specialised, such as a course about stained glass which I don't think is offered anywhere else. I'm pretty sure it doesn't offer many traditional academic subjects.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about those courses, I go to the University not the Institute and they aren't offered here. The Institute is designed for specialised courses like that though, so the courses you've applied to should be good.

the institute is amazing for computer animation, my friend has applied at swansea institute and he was told to go there because its the best (told by the careers advisor).

My mother did her Nursing degree at Swansea Institute and found them far better than the University itself, where she did her diploma.

It's a good place to study, but it's in a not very nice area of Swansea, so beware because there will be some dodgy characters around. Oh, and it's a 15 minute walk up a very steep hill to get there too.
