I upgraded two weeks ago and they somehow lost my order, despite me having an order reference number. They told me to try again today, so I did, and my contract upgraded straight away. How can you just lose an order like that?

Vodafone aren't used to receiving orders. I'd be surprised if they had know what to do with it.
I've never really had any (other) problems with them and cancelling my contract to move somewhere else is more hassle than it's worth

I'm quite surprised to see that no-one's yet flagged up Google Play's 25 billion downloads 'celebration'. As of yesterday, they're putting up 'top Androds apps and games' for 25p each (changing each day), as well as a selection of 'top movies' and 'banned books' for 99p. I'm interested enough to have spent 50p so far 
(though it helps that my £15 Nexus voucher still has a fair amount left to use 
)

I never realised the apps cha he every day, thanks for the heads up! I've got £1.40 of my voucher left so that's five downloads
