SM is the leader of the actual TSR society (http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/group.php?groupid=813), Mad Vlad and spikeymike are deputies.

In terms of the original thread creation, see http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=855437
Puma was the first poster, Vlad is the first one who still posts regularly (Dez is second by 25 minutes).

Why do you ask?

I'd forgotten the first Tech Soc discussion was about porn. Start as you mean to go on I suppose. :p:

LOL haha

I was talking about Puma but you can get my runners up complement.

"cheers runners up person"

I agree, my misinterpretation of an ambiguous statement that could have applied to any of six people mentioned did cause a bubble of mirth to escape my lips.

I think you, http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/member.php?u=820241 and http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/member.php?u=881642 could all become good friends. You seem to have a lot in common.

I read an article on scaling porn sites yesterday - http://highscalability.com/blog/2012/4/2/youporn-targeting-200-million-views-a-day-and-beyond.html

I see you thought better of it.

I think people should be encouraged to learn new languages. If that means making their own language, so be it.

What a lad.

What the **** does that mean? :lolwut:

According to the indispensable resource 'Urban Dictionary', a 'lad' has skills including (but not limited to) "Binning Pints, exposing genitalia and getting naked in public places, throwing up after copious alcohol consumption, spousal abuse and getting kicked out of pubs/nightclubs for being overly offensive".

How any of this pertains to starting a series of threads centred around discussion of tech, I'm not quite sure. Perhaps mangoh is implying things about Puma's history of genital exposure in public places?

I believe this may be slander, a serious offense. Any punishment should be proportionately brutal.
I increased the movement speed on my trackpad significantly (like, practically maxed out) for the first time ever yesterday, and I thought I'd got the hang of it. Trying to use it this morning and I'm all over the place, it feels like being drunk :ahee:
Trackpads are for mortals :pierre:

I have my mouse back at uni for when I have my second monitor (Guess the brand Vlad, guess ;D), the trackpad suits me fine when I come home for the holidays and spend most of my laptop time in bed or on the sofa.
Trackpoints are where it's at.

Those are the little red thingies on ThinkPads aren't they? Never used one.
Yes they are. Frankly, they're excellent.

!

I could never buy a laptop without one. I bought my Thinkpad 4.5 years ago - for 600 quid, I got a 1680x1050 nonglare screen and a trackpoint. These days, decent systems with these specs seem to be much more expensive :s-smilie: ...

Yeah, they're quite rare. You tend to find DataMatrix barcodes on items these days. QR Code is quite specialist.

My first name is... urr... Mad? :p:

and... ROFLCOPTERS at that

It's a shame I can't find the original post

EDIT: Sorry about the bump, pressed reply and thought it was automatically going to post in 3.0

Brilliant

I quite like the look of this mouse and I'm thinking of investing when I come to build later this year.

Also, my parents have just asked me what I'd like for my 21st
photoshoptroll is my new favourite time wasting website. Some of the stuff is utter genius.

Most of it isn't that funny tho.. =/
The latest few are more fun I feel (like the one you posted) because of the extended conversation

Argh, I was trying to find that epic photoshop troll from a few years ago where that guy had a picture of himself as a kid on his father's lap that he wanted edited for father's day or something. That one was the best, but can't seem to find it now.

EDIT: found it

Been playing around with the OnLive desktop app for the iPad, it's pretty good. Gives you their Windows 7 to play around with and 2 GB of cloud storage.

I just tried this, but it keeps complaining about firewall issues. No idea what the actual error is, seems to be about as useful at explaining what's wrong as Xboxes are. :colonhash:
