Everyone's opinion changes with time. Majority of fans just jumped on the 'Koscielny is ****' bandwagon. They didn't give him a look in last year. He was one of the best players on the pitch when we played Barca at the Emirates and contained Messi as good as any defender can. He makes one mistake and he is automatically deemed rubbish by the idiotic fans.
With time yes, but its how quickly a player can change so quickly and to such and extent. Koscielny's game hasn't improved that much, he's just not playing with Squid or Djourou as a partner and you can now see his talents.

Don't lump "fans" into one category, as a United fan, you should know there are a significant amount of Arsenal fans that aren't even remotely serious about football. There was a significant amount of people on this thread that were standing up for Koscielny when the idiots were calling him a horrible player.

Koscielny's game hasn't improved drastically I admit. It is just these idiotic fans have disappeared since we started our resurgence in October. No doubt there will be people who will make ridiculous claims now because we are going through a rough patch. People just want a scapegoat as proof of how 'bad' a manager Wenger is so we can get someone new in, even though a new manager is not the answer but meh.

Everyone uses fans as a general term to describe general feeling, I referred mainly to this thread. There weren't a significant number nowhere near the significance of the number calling for him to leave. Obviously you can't give an opinion that everyone held, but the number of people calling for Kos to be dropped vastly outnumber those saying he was good enough to be in the first team. I'm saying, I can't see what that is based on as he is playing at a similar level he has been since this time(even before then) last year. I can only remember JK as a member of note saying your defensive partnership was fine.

Its just an overall point, how players have moved from not good enough to the best players in your team, people need to look at how players are being played, and whether its the fact they aren't good enough or aren't being played properly or motivated properly. My case currently would be Arshavin, another player not being played properly yet is taking all the flack for his poor performances, rather than looking at why he's gone from one of the most dangerous players in the PL to not being suitable off the bench.

If it doesn't apply to you then fine, its just a general point.

Team News: Henry and Arteta will be back for sundays game against Aston Villa.
I'm glad Arteta is back, we need him in the middle to help us retain the possesion, something we have struggled to do without him (i.e. the Swansea game).

For a united fan you do talk a lot of sense. A defence is a unit and playing with djourou week in week out didn't help his case at all.

Interesting article on Arshavin

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2091097/Andrey-Arshavin-ruined-Arsenal.html

Don't agree wtih everything but some good pointa

Actually agree with this, the goal was more vermalean's fault as it was arshavin's. Vermalean should have been wider to help out arshavin, instead he was in the box playing as a third CB.

That's true, although arshavin got skinned too easily as well, but then again an attacking midfielders job isn't to defend against wingers. Arshavin should play behind the striker and there may be a difference, if not, then he should go.

Latest is that he's stalling on that move for the time being - it seems that the Swiss teams are willing to sell due to the fact their league is an utter shambles and they expect to lose out on sponsorship/TV money.

Would love him at Utd, tbf. He can play the 80% of games that Cleverley misses. :colonhash:

Massive talent. Exactly the sort of player Arsenal need right now too. And we could sell him for double the price to Barcelona in 3 years time. I don't know what we're waiting for.
Interesting stuff regarding Wenger. Apparently he was on Canal saying that he wont leave this summer but is getting tired of the criticism. Apparently he also hinted at the board not making all the funds available he needs to strengthen the team. If thats the case then it adds up because in the past he wasnt afraid to spend money but seems to suddenly have stopped (Last summer excluded).

Have you got a link?

Wenger doesn't like to be challenged. I think that is quite clear. I found his comments about the substitution ridiculous. "18 year old for the captain if Russia. Let's be serious" something like that - shows he has little touch with reality. I'm not going to pretend that his job is easy but quite frankly even the fans can see a lot of things earlier than he can. After being tipped off by Jangrafess about his Brentford spell, and then earlier on for his Carling cup run, we could easily tell Szczesny was the best GK at the club - but he stuck with Almunia/Fabianski far too long. We've seen it with Senderos vs Kolo before. Now with Oxlade. We all knew Oxlade was our best option on the wings but Wenger just wouldn't play him. If you're going to keep going against the grain and then keep losing, expect to be called up on it. Wenger is paid £6m a year. He might not get challenged by the board but he can't expect to avoid criticism from the public.

Interesting, seeing as I read this earlier from a Canal presenter:

"Wenger turned down very big offer from Qatari owners to join PSG, says The Specialists show on Canal Plus. #afc #psg"

"Wenger was first choice to replace Kombouaré at PSG, not Ancelotti, according to The Specialists show on Canal Plus. #afc #psg"

Who do you see buying RVP? I don't think he'll go to city or anyone in the PL otherwise he would have gone with nasri and fabregas, real madrid don't need another striker and he would be on the bench at barca, malaga/PSG maybe? I doubt arsene will sell for cheap to the milans either and juventus won't have the money either. Every team would want van persie, but who would honestly get him? I reckon if he doesn't go to PSG, he's staying at arsenal until next january at least.

Not sure, to be honest! I sometimes wonder who'd buy Tevez, yet he's attracting interest from some big teams!

If he did to go a PL team, it'd be City and it wouldn't surprise me. But I think he'll stay quite loyal to Arsenal and move abroad - if/when he does leave. Not sure about his contract status but I don't think he's signed an extension yet; Wenger seems to have forgotten what happened with Nasri.

Wenger:
I don't normally comment on speculation, but am I going to Madrid? Yes. If we beat Milan and draw them next, why not?
oh well we look to the future now.

With tevez, I reckon milan and inter think/thought they can get him for cheap since city want him out, plus he's a class striker that would make any team better whether his attitude is bad or not. Tevez is probably PSG bound if he doesn't go to inter, unless malaga have something to say about it.

I think wenger knows, he honestly should get a striker in this transfer window; park is leaving arsenal next year for military duty or something, he has no faith in chamakh and bendtner's leaving. I think he's just hoping RVP signs, if he doesn't sign, I guess he'll sell for 30+ million and buy an alternative player. It might turn into a de rossi/drogba situation as well.

Last summer was because he got 50 million from fabregas and nasri, out of that 50 million he got, he spent 30 million of it and banked the rest. Classic arsenal to do this. Since you have a top class manager this wouldn't happen to you, but chelsea had a situation like this when they were challenging for honours in the 1970's like you guys are now and got cups, they nearly ended up in the 3rd tier and almost went bust. I fear for arsenal, there's only so much that wenger can do.
