For the paper 1 factorising question did anyone else get a(a+b)+b(a+b)? And for the one about whether mean or median was more representative, which one did you say? I put mean but apparently that's wrong because the randomly huge number skewed it...

And for the emissions one, I think it was just one of those 'the price of the house falls by 3.5% each year' questions in disguise. The reason you can't do 15*4 to get 60% is because each time, after the 15% has been taken off, the emissions are lower, and therefore the 15% of it is lower... if that makes any sense. So 100-15% = 85, then 85-15%=72.25, not 100-(15+15)%=70.

I'm not happy now. I thought that was one of the ones I got right?!?! L-( 4 marks gone!

Somehow, for question 12 on the calculator (about the yacht and canoe from the clifftop) I got h = 44.6 after doing 4 pages of working.

Also, what did everyone get for 5cosx-3=1? I think I got 36?

The first part was 36, but you then had to take 36 away from 360 to get your 2nd answer

Do you think I'd get a mark for just the first part?

You'll only lose 1 mark out 3! which is still really good because you will get a mark for getting cosx = 4/5 then 1 mark for 36

I brought the papers out of the exam with me so im going to work at them. God, I looked at paper 1 and actually had a year rolling down my face at one point because of the frustration. Paper 2 was much easier. Cannot believe it! 3 exams to go, higher human bio, higher history and int 2 Spanish. Cannot wait until they're over!!

Going by the paper, the boundary for an A may be lowered and 66 might just scrape an A

    Re: Int 2 maths
I was quite happy with the paper. The emmissions question was quite sneaky, but I just used the P(1-r/100)^n formula, subbed in 100 as a sum and used 4 for the number of times it decreases. I got that it didn't meet the target, and only decreased by about 48%. The last question i got 1, but i had no idea how to work it out so I just subbed in 1 as x, then put it in the calculator. Hopefully i'll still get the marks although there's no working.

for the emissions one i did
    100-15 =85
    100 x (0.85)^4 = 52.2%
    100-52.2 =47.8 %
