Usefullness of Decision Maths Modules

I have a gap year to fill up learning stuff.

I have D1 and D2 textbooks sitting in a drawer, I tried learning them last year but they were excruciatingly boring, so I did mechanics modules for my further maths A level instead.

I want some knowledge of computing. Am currently learning C-programming. I was wondering whether I should bother learning D1 and D2. What are they useful for (if anything). I heard they are useful for computer science students. Is that true?
