ID photos

I am about to start Manchester unj and I need to take some photos for my university accommodation, ID card and other things. It says they need to be passport sized but do they need to be in that style? I may as well go to one of the special booth things but do I need to do the whole straight face thing?

They'll take one for your ID card for you, these photos get taken to your accommodation and they put them on their system for you.
I took passport style photos just to be on the safe side, they're cheap enough.

The sheet they put them on (if I remember rightly) only has enough space for passport style pictures too.
