Do u think Solomon papers are harder or easier than elmwood papers?


my teacher/s have told me that the Elmwood Press papers are harder than Solomon Press!! but to be honest they are both of the same level to me.

Guys I just got 66 in the Jan 2012 paper, I want to be on a secure 70. Any tips?

Ive prepared for this exam for so long and im certain ill do well :biggrin:.
The best practise ill recommend is A level maths solomon press papers, I did all of them so now all the past papers look completely easy to me now! (got 74/75 for my c1 mock XD)

can someone explain how to do this. i got Sn=n/2*[a+l]
i know a = 27,l=67, but whats n and how do you get n.Screen Shot 2012-12-29 at 18.03.46.png thanks

I thought there were just two equations:

Un = a + (n - 1)d

Sn = n/2(2a + (n - 1)d)

??

The second equation is the same as Sn=n/2(a+l) which both give you the sum of an arithmetic sequence. That greek letter 'E' sign is asking you to dothe same, where the top number is the total number of terms in the sequence with the bottom number saying what you what substitute in the expression for the first term.

There are 3 the two you said and the third is Sn=n/2(a+L) where L is the last term and L= a+(n-1)d replacing L into the 3rd equation give you the 2nd one.
