How do you learn Maths effectively?

Do write down the method and refer back to it? Or how do you go about it?

Practice the method to an extent you feel is necessary. After that, it should be "programmed" into your head

Revision is nothing different. You need to make sure you know and can apply certain methods with ease.

I'm aware that you're currently doing M1, but this applies in the same way to every bit of maths. Some questions may not look like that they involve something you're used to, but don't be fooled! At most, you'll need to suitably adapt what you know to the question.

1.) You learn the method

2.) You apply the method to different situations. (I.E completing a range of questions)

3.) Once the knowledge is there your practise, practise and practise!

You don't memorise the method, you learn it. This means you have to learn why it is used and how it works. Then practice questions.

You understand why the maths works
Then you practice applying it
