Yep! Looks good on UCAS if you've already achieved an A* in summet (again if I do well !) What other A levels are you doing? I'm guessing FM is one..

Yeah definitely! As well as Maths and Further Maths I'm doing all 3 of the sciences and Extended project, so June is going to be pretty intense for me! What about you?

I think C4 is probably my favourite maths module, with FP2 coming in a lose second. I enjoy all of it apart from binomial expansion and sometimes vectors.

How are you finding C4.

Lol wow! I prefer C3 tbh, just nice straightforward maths...
Identifying the methods of integration is a bit difficult

I'm doing C3 and C4 both for the first time in June. I really want an A* :sadnod:

Woah... lemme guess for Engineering? That's quite a lot of stuff you're doing! I'm only doing Maths, FM, Physics and Chemistry  (Critical thinking doesn't quite count haha)

Resitting this exam as well 75 UMS... going to use the bigger oxford or black a2 book this time, the green book is only good for the mixed/review questions rest is garbage. does anybody know how long it would take complete either books?

Close, Computer Science  yeah, I think I'll have to drop something for next year! I'm guessing your school does it the same as ours in the fact that you do the entire Maths A level this year and the entire Further Maths A level next year...? What do you think of C3 and C4? Personally, I found C3 quite boring (apart from differentiation) but C4 quite cool

O.o what universities you aiming for then?

Yeah our school's like that.. It was alright this year when we had normal maths AS + A2. But next year with FP2+FP3 especially it's gonna be insane!

C3+C4 are quite good actually.. defo much better than C1 and C2. C4 is more interesting especially Integration where you can do it in so many different ways!

high B (78) in c3
retaking as I want to try for the A* (but my offer asks/what I need for what I want to do is an A)

Exact same here. C4 basically requires you know C3 like the back of your hand so hopefully we should be okay.

About to do Jan 2008 C4 in preperation for my Mock on Wednesday now

Got 85 UMS in C3 in January (stupid exponetial question ****ed up my 90+ UMS), so resiting C3 and doing C4 for first time.
I learnt all of C4 before Christmas and I hadn't really opened the book since then, so last week just started to relearn it all . For C4 chapters 1-5 are pretty simple; I just need to master integration and also differential equations.

I am going to work through all C4 77 Review Questions over Easter and do some of the Solomon C3/C4 papers. Then when study leave starts I am going to finish all the Solomons and move on to real Edexcel papers in the run-up to June.

Here is a pdf with all the C3 exam questions in order from June 2005 - Jan 2013. (24 hours of exam time )

That so beastly thanks mate, I will see if I can upload that to the first page!

Don't bother spending time just reading. I spoke to alot of people and apparently my method was just so so so wrong.

So despite how hard I worked I didn't get the grade I should have.

What I am doing to ensure I get an A* is:
1. Deriving the essentials from the DATASHEET, and doing enough questions in the Book to be able to have generalizations to solve problems (which I made for C4 today, C3 to go)
2. Solomon Press Papers this Month till 15th April or so because they are harder. Ideally finish them all off for C3 and C4 taking each one seriously. (Writing down weaknesses/anything topics I get wrong)
3. Start doing Edexcel Papers until around 1st June, leaving 1 Paper Jan 12 for 5 days before each past paper.

4. Recapping my C3 C4 D1 everyday for like 15 minutes each, so I don't forget it.

Physics and Chemistry will be a whole different story, alot of consistent grinding especially for Chem as there is so much theory.......

Doing C3 and C4 first time in june , really want the A*. got 99 ums for C1 so im on my way :3 (made crazy stupid mistakes in C2 so retaking that...)
I finished the C3 syllabus really fast in like a month and a half, just doing solomon press papers a week now.
C4 is going well as well! though integration looks like mad from what ive seen...

That sounds good, i'll try and have a go. Thank you so much

where did you get this statistic from? is this statistic for every student who sat the exam or just your school?

Do you have the examiners report? If you do, would it be possible for you to upload it? Thanks.
