Quadratic Formula Input on Casio calculator

Hi guys;

Wanted to thank everyone for their commentary regarding modulus and absolute inequality values/equations; have been studying hard and feel a lot more confident about them than I did previously.

The focus of my studies has been on quadratic equations, but I am struggling with them the quadratic formula....though not because of the actual principles involved!

I have a Casio fx-991ES Plus (Silver) calculator, and I am a little bewildered as to the proper input for the quadratic formula.

I am aware that Mode, 5: EQN, Option 3 is the mode required for standard quadratic equations, but as I said; I am entirely sure as to what is the correct method and nuances of using the quadratic formula with this mode of calculator. I have read the manual, but if truth be told, I found myself becoming confused by the jargon terminology.

If you have your equation in the form ax2+bx+c=0a x^2 + bx + c=0 then press:

MODE
5
3
a=
b=
c=
= read answer
= read answer.

E.g.

3x2+2x4=03 x^2 + 2x -4=0

MODE
5
3
3=
2=
-4=
= read the answer: x1=1+133x_1=\frac{-1+\sqrt{13}}{3}
= read the answer: x2=1133x_2=\frac{-1-\sqrt{13}}{3}
