Anyone help me out with this Rates question

Spoiler

:

LinQ --->>> https://twitter.com/natekeegan1986/status/400717619113639936/photo/1

I get (23/24) = 0.95 --- Not one of the options

I can put the answer up if users request it.

Thanks

Dean.

Do you mean that first question

If so = why do you get 23/24

The first one will fill 1 in an hour (surely that is obvious) - the second one means that the answer has to be more than 1 - how much will that second one fill in the hour

Thank you I get:

12/12 = 1/1
11/12 = 0.92/1
therefore 1+0.92=1.92

I got 23/24 by doing (11+12)/(12+12). This would have given the value of one day and not one hour.

It seems very silly, I didn't read in 1 hour.

Alternatively I guess I could have done, (23/24)/0.5=1.92

Thank you C was the correct answer.

Shouldn't have skimmed it ffs.

You've helped me on a lot of math questions I have asked on here. Appreciate it.

I take it your one of the best at math on this forum

And thanks again

Nate.

By intuition and what you said here I should have realised anyway that the answer had to be between 1<_x<_2. lol

TY
