Anyone else get a higher offer than A*AA for physical NatSci/ chemical engineering/anything?

I've been asked for A*A*A* in Chem/maths/further maths plus an A in AS Physics for Physical NatSci! Don't really know why, but ah well  What's yours?

That admissions test though... Some of my things my Head of Physics didn't know what they were...

It was tough, yes! The annoying thing about it is that I knew that if I had done full Physics (I only started AS Physics in September) then I would have covered the ideal gas laws and the lenses questions! Luckily it didn't seem to count against me too much though - should I get the grades, I plan on specialising in chemistry anyway, physics is really a side note for me  Do you know what modules you would pick?

Haha what is the condition?? Mine is A*AA

That's the thing
I'm an international student - so I haven't received a letter yet. I just got an email saying that I have a conditional offer.
But it'll have to do with my IB score... released today :eek::eek::s-smilie::s-smilie:

Urgh, still have days to panic.

Have they confirmed that? I'm thinking mine could be a typo. Well done! Which college btw?

King's College, for Economics.

On my letter it says my offer is dependent upon achieving

"Certified passes at grades A*, A, and A in three GCE A levels, including your existing A level in Mathematics (achieved in 2013), Economics, and Further Mathematics."

This thread has really motivated me to work harder- I'd love to go to Cambridge for Physical NatSci  I'm only in Year 11 though so I guess I've got time xD
Well done to you all!

Good luck!

Including my already achieved grades my offer for Phys NatSci is A*A*A*AA

I'm in a similar position

My offer is A*AA with an A* in Maths and As in Economics and Further Maths. Seeing as I achieved an A* in Maths last year, my offer is just AA in Economics and Further Maths this year

Incredibly jealous mate . So you don't need an A* this year for a single one of your unis?

Hmm, mine doesn't mention my existing A levels at all.. but it's put quite differently! Well done though, that's the most lovely offer (AA  )

Nope :P Unless LSE throw a curveball and ask for an A* in Further Maths

3! I thought my 2 was harsh!

Do you already have one of them or something?

No, one module ahead in Maths but that's all. Can only assume they weren't sure about me and thought if I can make the high offer I must be good enough

you definitely will don't stress! Are you an A Level candidate?

Yeah, it's just so frustrating! I got offered A*AA, but I think my most likely A* is probably in a language - but then I'm like, wait, how does one get an A* in a language? (My school is baaaad for languages)

Congrats everyone!

I got an offer for Engineering at King's (A*AA Maths, FM, Phys), but it says it's to study for the BA degree in Engineering. Anyone know if this means that I can't get an MEng degree?

Thanks

I've an offer for Maths in Trinity College!! Waiting for the conditions of the offerbut i assume STEP which terrifies me!!

Well done! I was too scared of the other candidates to apply for Trinity haha but I realised at the interview that I preferred Jesus anyway. STEP is pretty terrifying for all of us but I doubt you'll have any trouble seeing as you got an offer from Trinity! Good luck!

Offer for Economics at Corpus Christi - A*AA

Congratulations, I got the same offer for Phys Natsci, hopefully ill see you there

If I do manage to miraculously get these grades, I'd spend all the time I could showing people that coming from a not brilliant state school, having a B at AS and taking that subject forward to A2, and a less than 95% average can still get you in! I feel so lucky.

No, I'm pretty sure you still can. Mine said I'd been accepted for a BA in NatSci with the possibility of extending to an MSci subject to satisfactory completion of the first three years

I'm pretty sure you can: there was a post about it by fluteflute a while ago here and also I copied it below

It also sounds pretty standard:

Also, my letter is offering me a place on the BA engineering course and "subject to satisfactory academic performance" I may complete a further year of study for the MEng degree. I don't know if people are given offers for the MEng straight up?

It's normal for them to want to make sure you're not doing awfully after two/three years, because otherwise they'd be no point you doing a fourth.
