Dyslexia

Hey guys,
I'm 17 years old and recently (since october 2013) it has become apparent to me that I read numbers wrong.. I used to put it down to being silly and not concentrating, however it occurs so regularly I thought it must be something more serious.
I have always struggled with reading; I find it difficult to focus on words in big chunks of text. Ever since year 7 I haven't read the novels we have had to study (I never read my GCSE texts either) because I simply find it too difficult.
My parents and friends just thought I didn't enjoy reading; I never told anyone that I can't read because I was scared that if I tell people I can't read they will think I'm incompetent.
I have been referred to the eye department at the hospital for binocular instability, however I never get headaches, and I don't get double visions...

Does anyone else have the same problem? Or could anyone simply give me some advice about what to do?
I'm really worried this will start affecting my work and soon exams.
Go to your SEN department and ask for a dyslexia test
