Something only us linguists do! Since I've been in China, I've forgotten quite a few English words, so I'll just whack a Chinese word instead. God help me when I go back to the UK

I've just started on memrise.com which is really good for vocab. Creating an account is totally free and I've found it really useful with my Chinese. They do a lot of different languages though, like French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese to name a few. Hope it helps

Thanks... I've been wanting to learn the common European languages... (our school didn't do them)...
Fortunately I know a lot of languages from the other side of the world though

No worries. Memrise doesn't really focus on grammar, so you may want to buy a special grammar book for that, but for vocab, memrise is great!

I blame time differences for the sporadic-ness of my posts! :fuhrer:

Somehow, our posting times overlap! My alarm just went - so it's actually 07:xx over here!

Hmmm, I might lay off the the posting for a while - the next time I post on here, I must have something to post that's worth posting about

Now, Auf Wiederhören for now, Liebling. And look after the children

(Former) students of the French language! Can youz follow this lyrics? It's half in French and half in Dutch. I suspect the lyrics is actually the same in both? It's called "Een mooi verhaal" (une belle historie)
